The use of these parameters is explained on this page.
If you have registered your domain with a registrar company that has password
protected your domain, you will need to manually change the DNS information
on your registrar's
site, so that your domain name points to JSM-Hosting. You
must provide your registrar with our DNS servers' data:
DNS1: ns1.servershost.net - NEW since Dec 31 2017 (or ns1.jsm-hosting.com - IP: "181.214.142.233" usually not needed)
DNS2: ns2.servershost.net - NEW since Dec 31 2017 (or ns2.jsm-hosting.com - IP: "104.37.87.6" usually not needed)
This new DNS information will have to cascade throughout the web. Therefore
your domain name will only point to JSM-Hosting (and really
become "active")
a few hours later (two days maximum).
As soon as your account on JSM-Hosting is set up, you can now begin uploading
your web files onto your JSM-Hosting website. You can use any FTP software
(for instance, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, WS_FTP...) to upload your files onto
your
website.
Until your domain name is registered and points to JSM-Hosting (see DNS above),
simply use "http://yourIPaddress" as
the FTP host name. When your domain is active, you may then use "yourdomain.ext" as
the FTP host name.
Please note that:
Your FTP software must be configured so that all
files are uploaded in the "/www/" or
the
"/public_html/" directory,
Full e-mail services are available on your account and are easily configurable
on your Control Panel.
If you are transferring an existing website
to JSM-Hosting, be sure to setup ASAP any
existing
POP3 e-mail accounts you currently maintain in order to have a smooth
transition without any loss of e-mail.
Once your domain name points to JSM-Hosting, e-mails will
be sent to your account on JSM-Hosting. Therefore, it is important that
you get right away your e-mail settings configured properly on your Control
Panel.
E-mail software
Here are the settings
you should use for your PC-based e-mail software (such as Outlook):
Username: "mailboxname@yourdomain.ext".
Password: the one you assigned when creating the mailbox in you panel.
Incoming Mail (POP3) server:
"mail.yourdomain.ext".
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server:
"mail.yourdomain.ext", or you may
have to use the one provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider -
for instance, "relay.skynet.be"
if your ISP is Proximus) if you left 25 as SMTP port - NOT if you change your SMTP port to 587, which we recommend!
Please remember that we have a very strict 'NO SPAM' policy. Failure to comply will result in your account being suspended, if not terminated, without notice. More info...
To prevent that the JSM-Hosting e-mails you send get rejected or delivered to Spam/Junk folders, you should setup DKIM & SPF for your account. More info here or here... To do so, you should (to our limited understanding):
Open your cPanel.
Click on "Authentication" in the EMAIL section.
Click on the two "Enable" buttons (DKIM & SPF).
In the "Additional IP Address blocks for your domains (IPv4 or IPv6)" box of the SPF section:
Remove all old existing IPs,
Add "yourIPaddress",
Add IP "191.96.133.99".
Note that another IP will automatically be added (as stated in the explanation text in that page - currently "181.214.31.162").
In the "Include List (INCLUDE)" box of the SPF section, add:
"relay.mailchannels.net"
if you use a PC software such as Outlook and send mail through your ISP's SMTP, add this SMTP (example "relay.skynet.be").
Click on "Update" then "Go Back".
Note:
Procedure under 4. should be repeated each time "yourIPaddress" changes.
The above information applies ONLY to e-mail addresses configured on JSM-Hosting.com. It
is given to the best of our limited knowledge, without any form of waranty, and it may be incomplete or partly wrong.
We decline all responsability for the consequences of any error or omission it may contain: It is your responsability to find out the proper settings.
Your Control Panel is a comprehensive version of the user friendly cPanel.
You can access it anytime at the URL https://belfast.serversecured.net:2083/, at "http://yourIPaddress/cpanel" or at "http://www.yourdomain.ext/cpanel". Simply provide "your-user-name" and "your-password" that
we sent you in our initial e-mail.
Note that you may get a "security certificate" error message. Just ignore it and click on "Continue on this website".
We ask you to promptly change "your-password" to something very secure (at least 12 characters, including both uppercase and lowercase letters, figures and signs). Failure to do so could result in your account being hacked and therefore terminated. More info...
Also, we ask you to maintain a valid contact e-mail address on your cPanel ("your e-mail address") and inform us if you were to change e-mail address. Failure to do so could result in your account being suspended and eventually terminated. More info...
Initially, you will have to use "http://yourIPaddress/cpanel" for
the first one or two days, until your domain name is pointing to JSM-Hosting
(see DNS above).
Until your domain name is pointing
to JSM-Hosting, some functions within your Control Panel will
not be available or work properly. Don't panic! As soon as your domain name
is pointing to JSM-Hosting, you can begin taking full advantage
of all our services and features.
